Meet Georgie
I am a second-year student at the Elliott School creating my own International Affairs concentration in Indigenous and Minority Studies and minoring in Journalism. I grew up in the small town of Middletown, PA, where I was raised by my father and grandparents alongside my younger brother. Prior to coming to GW, I was a YES-Abroad Scholar to Bosnia, and Davis Scholar to the United World College Dilijan, Armenia. I got started in student activism at GW my freshman year, when I joined Students for Indigenous and Native American Rights and became a student org rep for the Student Association’s Diversity and Inclusion Assembly. Since my introduction to the SA, I have held the position of Director of Diversity and Inclusion and am now a Senior Policy Advisor. My other leadership roles on campus include President of Students for Indigenous and Native American Rights, a key organizer of the Anything But Colonial Coalition, and a Residential Advisor of Hensley Hall on the Mount Vernon Campus. These roles have allowed me to be a prominent student activist, leader, and organizer on campus to fight for student’s needs and desires to ensure every student feels valued and can call this university home. Outside of my leadership positions on campus you can find me at events for Sigma Iota Rho, drinking copious amounts of coffee, or writing.
